3D mark 11 is one of the most robust and impressive DirectX 11 benchmark tools created to determine the accurate performance of your PC using advanced features like multi-threading, tessellations, and compute shaders. 3DMark 11 takes the full power of DirectX 11 to the fullest and is well known among die-hard gamers and tech enthusiasts who want flawless and accurate results in framerates, clock speed, CPU, and GPU temperatures, and every fine detail of the analysis. Its detailed charts provide a thorough report about your PC’s DirectX 11 performance and if it requires an upgrade from the user’s end or if the application meets the requirement to run on a specific machine.

To find well-balanced performance and visuals in many AAA games. You can change the rendering resolution and quality presets for immersive and desired results.

Overview of 3DMark 11
3D mark 11 comes with preloaded features utilized by the program to benchmark every type of hardware and high-performance gaming PC. 3DMark 11 has performance presets and upgrading it to an advanced version unlocks Entry and Extreme presets and custom settings. 3DMark 11 is supported by every hardware of every different type

3D Mark 11 has a total of six benchmark tests

  1. Deep-Sea 1 – graphics test 1
In the depths of exploring the deep sea by a team of submersible, powerful spotlights light up the depths. This GPU graphics test showcases a large number of points and lights, with some of the spotlights casting the shadow, noise adjusted optical density and volumetric illumination creates the effect of murky waters. There is no tessellation enabled in this test.
  2. Deep-Sea 2 – graphics test 2
A pair of submersible reveals the beautiful and rich textures of the seafloor. The second test of Deep Sea graphics showcases fewer lights than Graphics test 1 but implements a moderate percentage of tessellated geometry on the rocks, man-made structures, and coral. Post-processing adds other camera lens effects and depth of field in this graphics test 2.
  3. High Temple 1 – Graphics Test 3
The lost civilization ruined temple, an abandoned dig site, and mysteries hidden deep in the jungle are uncovered with DirectX Tessellation and atmospheric lighting. The volumetric lighting effect illuminates the environment with bright sunlight filtering through dense foliage. Tessellation adds crispy details to the temple carvings and the jungle foliage.
  4. High Temple 2 – Graphics Test 4
Lit up by the blue light of the moon in addition to bright headlights of abandoned vehicles. The temple reveals its sinister aura. This GPU Test showcases heavy tessellation and most of the workload comes from drawing tessellated geometry. The headlights act as shadow casting spotlights while the moon acts as shadow casting directional light.
  5. Physics Test – CPU stress test
The physics test from 3Dmark 11 is purely focused on the CPU performance benchmark by making use of lightweight rendering techniques to minimize any GPU impact on scoring. More importantly, this test contains a multi-threaded simulation of a large number of rigid bodies, some connected with joints, clashing using the bullet open source physics library.
  6. Combined Test – CPU and GPU
Another benchmark test from 3DMark 11 that combines and includes both GPU and CPU workloads. The GPU simulates soft body physics by utilizing DirectCompute and at the same time simultaneously rendering tessellated geometry, post-processing effects, and volumetric lighting. The CPU executes a rigid body physics simulation with a moderate number of jointed and colliding objects.

System requirements for 3DMark 11
To use 3DMark 11 with all benchmark tests and simulations, you need to have Windows 7 or the latest installed along with DirectX 11 graphics card. 3Dmark 11 was originally designed for several new features such as tessellation, multi-threading, and more. 3DMark 11 was released on December 7, 2010, it came with a soundtrack for visual content.

Pros

  • Sleek looking user interface
  • Online option to measure and compare scores
  • The software is configurable
